Environmental, Health & Safety Policy
Purpose & Philosophy
Apache Nitrogen Products, Inc. is committed to continuously improving environmental, health, and safety performance through qualified staff, services, guidance and training. We maintain a safe and healthy environment for our employees, contractors, vendors and the community, taking into account evolving community expectations, management practices, scientific knowledge and technology.
Regulatory Compliance
- We comply with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements, as a minimum, and implement programs and processes to achieve greater protection where appropriate.
- We work with stakeholders to develop responsible laws, regulations and innovative programs that provide safeguards for the environment while providing flexibility to meet the needs of our business.
Health & Safety
- We seek a healthful and safe workplace, free of occupational injury and illness.
- We emphasize individual responsibility for safety by all employees at our site expecting that our employees will report potential safety hazards or issues and be involved in implementing safety solutions.
- We do not conduct any operation or market any products without adequate safeguards and provide appropriate training programs to ensure the safe handling of our products.
- We maintain a trained emergency response team to support our site and to work with the Local Emergency Planning Committee to ensure our neighbors and the community-at-large are safe from potentially hazardous releases from our site.
- We prohibit employees from working under the influence of illegal drugs and/or alcohol.
Pollution Prevention
- We maintain an on-going commitment to natural resources conservation, pollution prevention and waste minimization.
- Through continuous improvement we reduce our use of toxic substances and minimize our generation of air emissions and hazardous waste.
Community
- We are a responsible member of the community and maintain open communication channels with the community-at-large and governmental agencies on environmental, health and safety matters.
- We continue to expand our knowledge and understanding of the effect of our operation on safety, health and the environment. We are committed to both continuous improvement in our operation and to sharing knowledge that we gain with our employees, contractors, vendors customers, the community in which we work, the scientific community, government and industry.
Commitment
We are committed to the full implementation of this policy. We establish and maintain appropriate controls to ensure that this policy is being followed including establishment of performance objectives and target and annual review of our performance. We inform our employees, contractors and vendors of this policy and their responsibility in meeting the policy. We encourage and support employee participation in accomplishing our environmental, health and safety objectives.
